2024 NATIONAL SILVER FOX RABBIT CLUB ELECTIONS

The position for Three Board Members are open for 2024 Election.

Sue McGonegal

As many of our members know, I have been raising our beloved Silver Foxes for over 10 years now, and have remained loyal to the breed, even though I did take several steps away (several years ago) from showing to gain some distance from the upheaval and drama local to my region.

But, I never stopped being in love with this exquisite breed of rabbits, and never stopped breeding towards our Standard of Perfection. As I enter the show circle again, I have a renewed enthusiasm for striving to breed that "perfect" Silver Fox, and have always had a particular preference towards the blue variety.

I am overjoyed that our club is so centered on keeping our National Club free of any negativity and drama, and appreciate how we all work together as a unified front at shows.

Reasons I believe I would be an asset to the Board of Directors:

1. My unwavering appreciation of the breed. I strive towards the Standard of Perfection, and have never entertained the idea of cross-breeding with another breed to improve our Foxes. Whether it be to "improve" fur or type, I feel crossing in another breed is not breeding towards the standard.

2. I have experienced the harsh reality of bullying, negativity, and other bad behaviors from some exhibitors, and will do everything in my power to prevent it from happening within our club. I will promote harmony among our members and our committees, and strive to keep our club as being known as one of the National Clubs that are "drama free".

3. I am deeply involved with our Youth in my County, and mentor many youngsters with their rabbit projects for our County Fair, as well as their show/breeding programs. I superintend the Rabbit Barn at our County Fair - sponsor our Youth by leasing my Silver Fox breeders to them for their meat pen projects, hold weekly Showmanship workshops at my farm so they can learn the routine and gain a broader knowledge of rabbits in general. I promise to help the overall promotion of rabbits, and especially our beloved breed to them. I will strive to promote as much support from our National Club members towards our Youth enthusiasts as possible.

I sat on the Board of Directors of another National Club, and believe I had a lot of positivity to offer when it came to making decisions regarding club matters. If I am elected, I will pledge to continue to work closely within our club on any matters needing attention, to keep harmony among all members of the club, and keep our breed moving forward as we all strive to create that "perfect" Silver Fox rabbit.

Respectfully submitted,
